House made of recycled paper!!

A $5,000 390-square foot house that house full plumbing and places to sleep and is meant to house 8 residents and a closed/open air kitchen with tables and benches!

The 100% energy efficient house!!

This house is 100% self-sufficient. It uses water from the forest as a energy source because of two hydroelectric turbines and also collecting energy using solar panels and also solar thermal panels that heat of the water. This house was built in Costa Rica isolated from civilization with no access to public power cables, sanitation or water!

Solar wind bridge!

This bridge base wind turbines that provide enough electricity to power 15,000 houses a year!

Tree houses!

These tree houses can be found in Costa Rica up in 150 foot trees where the community lives on 100% solar energy uses rainwater or a spring for their water needs. The main transportation for this community is a network of zip lines and ground trail.

About the box houses:I have to disagree. The use of container homes is a great way to help the environment and I think they actually look kind of nice. The use of these containers creates a more green way of living. These old shipping containers reduce the lumbering of trees because it is useless when your home is made out of metal. We are also saving energy that would be used to renovate traditional homes and on top of that saving the energy that would be used to melt down these containers!!

Cont... Creating something useful out of these old containers helps the environment drastically. When these old containers are out of commission they are stored away somewhere rusting away and contaminating the soil or they are melted down. We’ll save the environment and save energy at the same time. Serious environmentalists like me will make this my personal commitment to green living, by living in one of these wonderful moving container homes.

There are thousands of these environment friendly homes all over the world. We need to continue this global eco-friendly housing movement that has already start and just continue to improve on it by improving the technology and trying to popularize this green housing.

Container homes?

The new green living fad is making small homes out of shipping containers. Is this really a good idea to help the environment? You are recycling shipping containers, which well enough, but having to live in one seem kind of awful. It cannot be fun to live in such a small space with metal walls and floors. If i were to live in a shipping container, no matter how nice it’s made to look, i would feel depressed and cramped inside this steel box pretending to be a home. The last thing anyone wants to feel when they come home is like they’re being shipped to china. The outside of the containers aren’t appealing at all either. There has to be major renovations to make it look at all like anyone can live there, and it still doesn’t look nice enough for anyone to want to live in one. Although i have to say that it’s an interesting way of thinking outside the box when it comes to recycling!

The tax credits could cover 40%-90% of the cost. So why not get this cheap appliance that will do nothing other than save you money and reduce your carbon footprint!!!
